New lynx in adaptation pen

On 25/06/2019 another lynx from Austria was brought. Before release to adaptation pen, we has put  gps collar on both cats and immediatley transported to this pen. Time spent in such a place is supposed to teach them a bit of self-reliance and prepare to go out. Two lynx female will soon join into  newly created population of this beautiful cats in project area.

In this gallery we wold like to show You how look like in practice to transport lynxs- from wearing GPS collar to relesing in adaptation pen.

Into the Wild

 After the release of the lynx, we closely observe their progress in nature, using telemetry collars. During keep track of their progress, we noticed that although animals were born in captivity, they do well in nature. Strong instincts of survival and quickly absorbed information  caused that they begin to adapt onto new conditions. We observe the lynx started catch they prey. As we mentioned, they hunt from an ambush.When they can`t able to eat all meal,  lynx can hid rest of meat  under the litter.
